The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of South Africa offers online registration for voters. To register online, you can visit the IEC website and follow these steps :
– Visit the IEC Website registertovote.elections.org.za/voter/registration/za.
– Confirm your eligibility.
– Enter Your Details: Fill in your personal details, including your ID number, name, surname, and other required information.
– Upload Required Documents: Upload supporting documents in PDF or JPEG format, ensuring they are clear and under the size limit.
– Submit Your Application: Review your application for accuracy and submit it.

Alternatively, you can also register in person at your local IEC office or during special registration weekends. You’ll need to provide a valid South African ID document (green barcoded ID book, smart ID card, or Temporary Identity Certificate) and proof of address.

To check your registration status, you can:
– Visit IEC Voters Information www.elections.org.za/pw/Voter/Voter-Information and enter your ID number.
– SMS your ID number to 32810 (R1 charge).
– Download the IEC mobile app.
